A local key stakeholders round table of MN was held in Tyre on October 18th 2010. This activity follows and extends performances of WP2 “Community architecture” introducing a sustainable perspective of MN stakeholders groups, and their integration in WP4 “Heritage Trail” and WP5 “Sustainable tourism and Cultural Heritage” performances. The MN project manager supported the organization and performance of this round table. In order to analyze the stakeholders and assess their participation in the group, a specific tool (“Stakeholders’ Interest Analysis”) has been used by Tyre municipality to identify their interests, capacity and motivation as well as actions to address their interests. The result of this process was the composition of a new key stakeholders group in Tyre that will follow-up MN activities for WP4 and WP5.
Following this first meeting, local key stakeholders meetings will be held in all the other partner sites.
The activities included briefing with the Mayor and other policy makers, visits to economical stakeholders in their working places in the historical city (commercial, artisan, tourist, fishing and educational sectors) and a round table assisted by the selected key stakeholders.
During the debriefing the group decided to remain composed and follow all the period of the MN project activities, coordinating further meetings, approximately every three months, in collaboration with the municipality and in combination of MN work advancement steps.
