Objective

To generate a feeling of  belonging the citizens of a community must be involved in the decision making process  to share their territorial  heritage perceptions, taking into account  cultural, tourist, historical, social, personal experience, affective and emotional factor.
The participated design methodology is an approach that attempts to actively involve the end users in the design process to ensure that the output designed meets their needs and is usable.

The objectives are:

  • To identify the cultural resources in the territory from the different social actors’ viewpoints by discovering or rediscovering links with the territory, aspects or identity, sense of place and belonging.
  • To submit and address the previous research results to the different levels of target groups and beneficiaries,  as well as stakeholders , to activate brainstorming  sessions to be merged  into proposals of communications of awareness raising campaing.

Once the idea  generated by the local interventions  have been collected, recorded and elaborated, the key concepts that will form the basis of the awareness-raising campaign  plan and the sustainable  tourism in the Mediterranean  basin will be designed. Two target pilot countries  will be considered to carry out the pilot projects: Greece and Lebanon, considered as representative of the Greek and Phoenician heritage.  The pilot projects are aimed at providing  from the one side, an historic, social and cultural overview of the area.
