Objective

Awareness raising is a process which opens opportunities  for information exchange in order to improve mutual understanding and educate people with the intention of influencing their attitudes, behaviours, and beliefs towards the achievements of  the defined pourposes.

Cultural heritage is from the people and for the people: they have in the past produced what is regarded today as cultural heritage and it also through them that the heritage is preserved, presented and interpreted.

The cities and historical sites are called on to promote the identification, appreciation and preservation of their heritage, as well as the environment in which they belong. The participation of the action’s target groups involved in these areas is fundamental in this endeavour, and in so doing they exercise and defend both their individual and collective rights.

So the main objectives are:

• To contribute the awareness-raising and appropriation process from the action’s target groups and encourage the accessibility of the tangible and intangible heritage of the Mediterranean port-cities along the Phoenician routes object of the action.
• To recognise cultural diversity along the Mediterranean communities as the starting point for interpreting and representing the cultural goods of the territory.
• To ensure that the awareness-raising core message will be well-received and understood by all the action’s target groups and beneficiaries, through the employment of a variety of different communication approaches and techniques.
